That was just the way it was if you had financial aid. If you didn't pull a C average you were out. I had a 1.53 the first semester and a 1.74 for the second semester. While this was an improvement it was not enough to keep me in. Another factor in my poor performance was my course load. At the time a full time student was 12 course hours, a fully loaded schedule was 16 hours, at 20 hours you were pretty much the norm for a full time industrious freshman. I had 32 hours my first semester and 35 my second. This was because my degree took 5 years to complete unless you overloaded, and most of your was music performance stuff. Which for a talented musician is much easier than a regular academic class even though it still requires rehearsal time. The advisers for the Music Ed majors told us this and encouraged us to take at least 30 hours a semester.Darnack71https://www.blogger.com/profile/13514542648356111538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5387664925781347630.post-77183472462584430232010-11-21T12:17:37.485-08:002010-11-21T12:17:37.485-08:00You know, when I was accepted to the University of...You know, when I was accepted to the University of Missouri in Columbia, they gave me a conditional acceptance because of my dismal math grades. So if I got below a C average, I would have lost my scholarships and would be kicked out of school.

Fortunately, a school in St. Louis accepted me with no conditional acceptance AND gave me more scholarships.Casey Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13104411224612126472noreply@blogger.com
